How long does it take for malaria symptoms to appear?

My colleague just returned from a trip to a malaria-prone area and she's feeling unwell now. We're all a bit concerned. How long after being bitten by a mosquito does it typically take for malaria symptoms to start showing up? We want to know what to look out for.

Symptoms usually appear in 10 to 15 days after a mosquito bite. You can drink papaya leaf juice for immunity, but please see a doctor immediately for a blood test if you have high fever.

It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the fever and chills to start showing up. Stay safe, use mosquito nets, and get tested if you feel unwell!

With the amount of mosquitoes in my room, I keep a calendar. It takes around 10 days to start shivering, so don't ignore any sudden fever.

The typical incubation period is 10 days to 4 weeks. If you have traveled recently and have recurring chills, get a malaria blood smear done.
