How long does it take for liver to metabolize alcohol?

Sometimes, after a party, I feel a bit off the next day. I've heard the liver takes time to process alcohol. So, how long does it actually take for the liver to completely metabolize all the alcohol from a drink? Just curious about the process.

The liver takes about 1 hour to process one standard drink. So if you had a heavy dinner with multiple drinks, your liver is working hard overnight while you sleep!

Since the liver processes alcohol slowly over several hours, drinking heavily regularly can lead to liver damage. Better to save money and avoid drinking altogether.

Plan for at least 12 to 24 hours for alcohol to be completely cleared from your system before any important meetings or health tests.

Your liver processes roughly one pint of beer per hour. No amount of black coffee or cold showers will speed up this biological timeline.

It actually takes around 1 to 2 hours for a single peg to metabolize, yaar. That hangover next morning is proof your liver is still processing everything.

I noticed that as I got older, it takes my body much longer to recover from even a single glass of wine. The metabolism definitely slows down.

The worry about how alcohol is affecting your body can be very heavy. Give your liver a break and drink lots of water to help it recover.
