How long does hepatitis c last outside the body?

My uncle recently got diagnosed with Hepatitis C and we are quite worried about how careful we need to be with his belongings. Just wondering, how long can this virus survive outside the body, like on surfaces?

It can actually live outside the body on dry surfaces for up to three weeks depending on the temperature. But instead of guessing these things online, please do proper blood tests if there has been any exposure. I have thyroid issues and learned the hard way that regular doctor follow-ups are the only way to stay safe.

Honestly, the virus can survive on open surfaces for quite a few days, sometimes up to a few weeks. It is always better to be safe and maintain top-notch hygiene, just like I had to do after my high BP diagnosis. Focus on regular health checkups and clean surroundings rather than stressing too much.

I just went through this whole Hep C scare and treatment recently. The doctor told me the virus can survive on surfaces for up to three weeks at room temperature. Don't touch any dried blood spots without gloves and sanitize everything with bleach to be absolutely sure.

My elder brother was saying it dies quickly, but when we asked our family doctor, he clarified it can live up to three weeks outside the body. Please don't rely on home remedies or assumptions for this. Talk to a proper physician and get tested if you are worried about any exposure.

Yeah, it can survive anywhere from several days to even 3 weeks on surfaces. Better to sanitize everything well.

It can stay active for up to 3 weeks, which is quite scary to think about. Dealing with my PCOS has made me very cautious about overall health, so I suggest not taking any chances. If there's any doubt about a contaminated surface, just clean it thoroughly and consult a specialist.

Arre, that sneaky virus can sit on a surface for weeks together, maybe up to 21 days! With my joints aching and my body giving up daily, reading about these strong viruses just makes me want to stay in a bubble. Use a good disinfectant and keep your hands clean, simple.
