How long does alcohol fever last?

After a night out with friends, I sometimes get this weird feverish feeling, especially if I drink too much. How long does this 'alcohol fever' typically last?

If you are getting a fever after drinking, it is usually your body reacting to dehydration or a mild hangover, which should clear up in 24 hours. But if you have a high fever with shivering, it could be an infection or alcohol withdrawal, and you must see a doctor immediately.

That is your body telling you that you partied way too hard! A mild temperature from dehydration usually goes away by next day once you chug enough water and electoral. If it doesn't, time to visit the doc and pause the drinks.

My son had a similar issue after a night out with friends and it lasted for a day. Please make sure you drink plenty of fluids and rest. However, if the fever is high or accompanied by severe abdominal pain, please go to a clinic right away.

I was researching this and actually, alcohol can disrupt your body's temperature regulation. A mild fever should settle down within 12 to 24 hours. If it goes beyond that, it might be something else entirely, so getting a medical checkup is wise.

I barely slept last night because of a post-drinking headache and mild fever. Usually, this miserable feeling and temperature drop within 24 hours once the toxins clear out. Just load up on coconut water and try to sleep.

It typically lasts for about a day if it is just a hangover reaction. Please drink warm liquids, rest, and consult a doctor if the fever does not subside by tomorrow.
