How long can you live with lung cancer without treatment?

My uncle, unfortunately, has been diagnosed with lung cancer, and he's refusing treatment. It's heartbreaking. I need to understand, realistically, how long can someone live with lung cancer without any treatment?

Skipping cancer treatment to see what happens is like driving a car with no brakes to save on service costs! Don't even think about avoiding the doctor. Get the treatment done, and you'll be around to make bad jokes for a very long time.

My father's pulmonologist explained that without treatment, lung cancer can progress very rapidly, often within a few months, depending on the cell type. SCLC tends to grow much faster than NSCLC. Seeking medical intervention is highly critical to prolonging life and ensuring pain management.

This sounds like a very difficult choice someone has to make. I am new here and wanted to ask, is chemotherapy the only option, or are there gentler treatments available for older patients who might be scared of side effects?

Haan bhai, bina treatment ke toh bahut risk badh jata hai, cancer bahut jaldi phail sakta hai. Please doctor ki advice ko halka mat lo na. Jo bhi test bataye hain, jaldi se karwa lo aur sahi ilaaj shuru karo.

Treating cancer is definitely the priority, but don't forget that good nutrition keeps the body fighting. Even during hospital visits, make sure they get their favorite light, warm soups and soft comfort foods. A happy stomach keeps the mind strong for the treatment journey!

Avoiding treatment for a diagnosed lung cancer is extremely risky and can lead to severe pain and breathing complications very quickly. Please consult a qualified clinical oncologist immediately to understand the best, safest supportive care options.
