How long can you live with lung cancer with treatment?

My mother smokes a lot and I'm always worried about her health. I've read about lung cancer and wanted to know – if someone gets treatment, how long can they expect to live?

Haan yaar, treatment ke saath toh log kai saal tak acche se jeete hain, bilkul darna nahi hai. Modern therapies like immunotherapy are very effective now. Bas sahi doctor se ilaaj karwao aur patient ki himmat badhao na.

A close colleague of mine was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and underwent radiation and chemo. It has been three years now, and he is back at work, living a stable life. Everyone's body responds differently, but medical treatment definitely adds valuable time.

My mother is starting her targeted therapy for lung cancer next week, and I am feeling so nervous about the whole thing. Has anyone here seen good long-term survival with these newer oral drugs? I really need some hope right now.

In our family, we believe that keeping the patient happy and surrounded by loved ones gives them great strength to fight. But along with that, we must completely trust our oncologists and their scientific treatment. With proper therapy, many patients live peacefully for many years.

My uncle was diagnosed four years back and with regular chemotherapy and targeted drugs, he is living a very active life today. The biggest tip is to keep a check on side effects, give them small nutritious meals, and strictly follow the doctor's calendar.

Just like how I manage my thyroid with precise daily tracking and blood tests, cancer care also requires absolute discipline with follow-ups. Regular PET scans and blood panels are essential to check if the treatment is working. Keep a detailed file of all reports for your doctor.
