How long can the body go without sleep?

I've been pulling all-nighters for my exams, and I'm feeling completely exhausted. It makes me wonder about the limits of the human body. How long can a person really go without sleep before it becomes a serious health risk?

Actually yaar, the human body can push through for 3 to 4 days without sleep during extreme situations, but it is super dangerous. After just 24 hours, you start feeling dizzy and your brain completely stops functioning properly. Don't even try it, please.

Even if the body can survive a few days without sleep, it wreaks havoc on your digestion and metabolism. Skipping sleep makes you crave unhealthy sugary foods and spikes your cortisol levels. Eat a light dinner like khichdi and try to sleep on time tonight.

Scientifically, the record is around 11 days, but severe cognitive decline and hallucinations start setting in after just 72 hours. Prolonged sleep deprivation can lead to serious cardiovascular risks. If you are experiencing chronic sleeplessness, it is highly recommended to consult a sleep specialist.

Please don't try to test your body's limits with sleep deprivation. While people have survived several days in experiments, your coordination and mental health begin to crash within 36 hours. If you are struggling with insomnia, let me know and we can talk about getting you some help.

For muscle recovery and testosterone production, sleep is just as important as your workouts. Your body might survive a couple of days without sleep, but your athletic performance and strength will hit rock bottom within 24 hours. Keep your sleep schedule locked in at 7-8 hours.
