How long can a weight loss plateau last weeks months?

I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding next year, and I hit a plateau recently. It's been two weeks, and I'm worried it might drag on for a long time. How long can these plateaus last, like weeks or even months?

Don't fall for crash diets or miracle detox teas advertised online to break a plateau. A plateau can last from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on your metabolic rate. It is always safest to consult a certified clinical nutritionist or doctor who can evaluate your body parameters scientifically.

Mine lasted for a month, and honestly, it was because my 'cheat meals' turned into 'cheat weekends'! Once I got honest about my snack cravings, the weight started dropping again. Don't worry, just keep an eye on those extra bites of paneer tikka.

My weight plateau is like that one annoying relative who visits and refuses to leave for weeks! Don't let it get to you. Just change your workout playlist, maybe eat a slice of pizza to shock your system, and keep going.

Beta, the body needs time to settle, so do not hurry. A plateau can easily last a few weeks. Drink warm cumin water in the morning and focus on eating home-cooked, simple meals. Do not strain your body with extreme diets.

In my experience, a true plateau is when your weight doesn't change for at least 4 consecutive weeks. Sometimes it is just water retention or muscle gain if you are working out. Just keep eating balanced meals, track your water intake, and don't panic.

Don't get disheartened if your weight is stuck for 3 or 4 weeks, it is a very natural part of the fitness journey. Your body is just adjusting to its new weight. Just keep doing what you are doing, sleep well, and the scale will start moving again soon.

I have been stuck at 68 kg for almost 6 weeks now and it is making me so stressed. Is anyone else going through this right now? I feel like giving up on my diet completely because nothing seems to be working anymore.

As someone managing diabetes, my weight plateau lasted for about two months. I had to be very careful not to cut carbs too low because of my medicine doses. If you are diabetic, please discuss any diet changes with your doctor first so your blood sugar stays stable.
