How long after stopping finasteride will hair fall out?

I've been taking Finasteride for hair loss for a while, but I'm thinking of stopping due to some side effects. I'm worried about losing the hair I've managed to keep. How long after stopping Finasteride does hair usually start falling out again?

Honestly, I was just reading up on this because I am also thinking of starting it. From what most guys online are saying, the shedding starts within 2 to 3 months of stopping. It seems all the hair you saved just goes back to its natural cycle pretty fast.

Please don't just stop it abruptly on your own. I once ignored my doctor's instructions on another long-term med and ended up losing all my progress. It is always better to get a proper checkup and ask your dermatologist how to taper off safely.

See, if you have to stop it due to budget or side effects, start focusing on simple things like a good diet and a mild ayurvedic oil. Hair fall usually returns in a few months, so keeping your scalp clean and healthy is your best practical backup.

No point stressing, but realistically you will see the effects fading in about 8 to 12 weeks. If you are stopping, make sure you have an alternative plan ready with your trichologist to manage the shedding cycle.

The chemical effect of the medicine usually leaves the body within a few weeks, and hair loss restarts shortly after, maybe in 2 or 3 months. Since it is a hormonal blocker, discussing the stoppage with your doctor is the safest way to avoid sudden shock to your scalp.

I usually just read discussions here, but I wanted to add that my brother saw significant hair fall within 3 months of stopping. Just be mentally prepared for that transition.
