How long after starting chemo does hair fall out?

My sister-in-law just started her chemotherapy sessions for breast cancer last week. She's really worried about losing her hair. I was wondering, typically how long after starting chemo does hair fall out? Just trying to prepare her emotionally.

Look, let's be realistic. Hair fall usually starts within 15 to 20 days of the first cycle. It can be hard to watch, but remember that the medicine is working to heal you. Many people prefer cutting it short early on to make it easier to handle.

I was terrified when my mother's hair started shedding, but it is a very expected part of the treatment. It usually begins about 2 to 3 weeks after the first chemotherapy session. Once we got used to the idea and bought some nice scarves, it felt much more manageable.

This body goes through many changes during healing, and hair loss usually begins in 2 to 3 weeks. Stay positive, keep your spirits high, and focus your energy on recovery. This is just a temporary phase in your journey.

It typically starts around 2 to 3 weeks after your first treatment. Please take care of yourself during this time, and don't hesitate to ask your family for support.

It broke my heart when my hair started coming out in clumps around the second week. It is incredibly difficult emotionally, and it is okay to cry about it. Just know that you are much stronger than this phase, and your hair will eventually grow back beautifully.
