How long after sex does a pregnancy test work?

I had unprotected sex about 10 days ago and my period is due next week. I'm really anxious. How long after sex does a pregnancy test become effective enough to give a positive result?

In our days we didn't have such fancy early tests, we simply waited. A test works best after you have missed your regular monthly date, which is about two weeks or more after sex. Don't rush it, patience gives the correct answer.

I tried all kinds of home methods earlier but honestly, nothing beats a proper market test kit. It works best around 14 days after sex. Drink warm ginger tea if you feel anxious, and test using the first morning urine for best results.

Most smart period trackers will suggest testing exactly 14 days after your ovulation date. The hCG levels in the body need that much time to rise enough to trigger a positive on the strip. Any sooner and you might get a false negative.

A standard home pregnancy test is accurate only after 14 to 21 days post-intercourse. Testing too early can give a false sense of security. If you have any unusual pain or bleeding, please visit a clinic immediately instead of relying only on home kits.

Give it at least 2 weeks for the test to work properly. While you wait, keep up with your light walks and mild exercises to keep your mind active. Just avoid heavy lifting until you get a clear result and consult your doc.

Haan, jaldi test karne ka koi faayda nahi hai na. Minimum 14 days wait karo sex ke baad. If you do it before that, you won't get a proper line and will only get tensed for no reason.

Make sure you stay hydrated, but don't drink too much water right before taking the test as it can dilute the urine. Wait for 14-18 days after sex. Focus on eating fresh, home-cooked light meals while you wait to keep your system clean.

I know how stressful the waiting game is, you literally count every hour. But testing before 14 days will just make you overthink the faint lines. Try to distract yourself and do the test only when your period is actually due.
