How long after sex can you take a pregnancy test?

My period is delayed, and I'm thinking about taking a home pregnancy test. We had intercourse about a week and a half ago. How long after sex should I wait to take the test for it to be accurate?

Honestly, the earliest is around 14 days, but waiting for a missed period is always best. Taking it too soon can give a false negative and cause unnecessary stress. Check with your gynecologist if you are unsure about the timing.

With hormone issues like thyroid, cycles can be super irregular anyway. I always wait at least 2 to 3 weeks after sex to test, just to be sure. It is always better to get a proper blood test and consult your doctor to confirm everything.

I know how anxious it makes you feel, but testing too early is just a waste of money, ya. Try to wait at least 14 days or ideally after your period is missed. Hang in there, take a deep breath, and do it first thing in the morning when you finally test!

I totally understand the panic and how hard it is to wait, the suspense can drive you crazy. Just try to breathe and wait at least 15 days before checking. Testing too early will only increase your anxiety with unclear faint lines.

My tracker app usually suggests testing 14 days after ovulation for accuracy. If you track your cycle, wait until the day of your expected period to avoid any confusion. That is when the hCG levels are high enough to detect.
