How long after ovulation can you take a pregnancy test?

My husband and I are trying to conceive. I tracked my ovulation this month and we had intercourse at the right time. I'm really anxious to know if it worked, so how soon can I actually take a pregnancy test?

Those test kits are quite expensive if you keep buying them to test every day. It is much better to wait 14 days after ovulation or till your period is actually due. Testing early just wastes money on faint, confusing lines that force you to buy more kits anyway.

Realistically, you should wait at least 12 to 14 days after ovulation to take a test. Testing earlier than 10 days post-ovulation often results in false negatives because the HCG hormone levels are simply not high enough yet. Save yourself the time and wait for a clear window.

My mother-in-law told me to wait patiently for my skipped date, and even my doctor said the same thing. The body needs about 12-14 days after ovulation to build up the pregnancy hormone. Trying to test before that is usually not very reliable.

Honestly, wait for at least 11 or 12 days after ovulation. I know the suspense is crazy and you want to test on day 8 itself, but it usually doesn't show up that early. Distract yourself with some series or studies for a few days!

Listen, there is no point in checking 5 days after ovulation. Implantation itself takes about 6 to 12 days to happen. Just wait for two weeks calmly, then do the test. Doing it early is just going to give you unnecessary stress.
