How inaccurate are pregnancy tests?

My period is a few days late, and I took a home pregnancy test which showed a very faint line. My friend said sometimes these tests can be wrong. So, how accurate are they really, especially if the line is so light?

Honestly, the home kits can sometimes give faint lines or false negatives if taken too early. I always prefer going to a proper hospital like Fortis for a beta-hCG blood test. It is much better to ask your doctor clearly and get a blood test done rather than guessing at home.

My mother-in-law was telling me about old traditional ways to check, but I think modern tests are quite reliable if you wait for a missed period. Still, the doctor's confirmation is the ultimate truth. Don't worry too much, just visit your gynecologist for a proper checkup.

Bro, those cheap urine kits can be so confusing with those light, faint lines. Sometimes you do it too early and it shows negative even if you are pregnant. If you are stressed, just get a proper lab test done and end the tension.

I have been through this twice and learned the hard way that testing before your missed period is useless. Always use the very first morning urine because that has the highest hormone concentration. If the line is even slightly pink, treat it as a positive and schedule an ultrasound with your doctor.

I totally feel you, the anxiety of waiting for those lines is real! Actually, home tests are like 99% accurate if you use them on the day of your missed period, but testing too early gives wrong negatives. Just take a deep breath and try testing again after two days.

No need to buy those expensive digital tests that cost 300-400 rupees. The simple 50-rupee strip from the local pharmacy works on the exact same science. Just buy a pack of two, use one now, and if you have doubts, use the second one after three days.

It is so heartbreaking when you see a negative but your period is still late, leaving you in constant limbo. I spent months crying over confusing faint lines. Please be gentle with yourself, the emotional toll is heavy, and getting a blood test at a clinic can save you a lot of mental agony.

My wife got a negative test first, but she was suddenly craving hot samosas and pickles at midnight, which was so weird! We tested again after three days and it was positive. Sometimes your body tells you before the plastic stick does, so wait a bit and retest.

Listen, don't lose sleep over a plastic strip. Home tests are generally good, but they aren't foolproof. If your period is delayed and the test is negative, just wait a couple of days and see a doctor for a proper blood test to be absolutely sure. I'm sure everything will be fine.

The stress of waiting can upset your hormonal balance, which delay your cycle even further. I always tell people to practice five minutes of deep breathing before checking. Trust your body's natural signals, and let the doctor guide you calmly.

Oh God, I panicked so much when my test showed negative but my period was a week late. It turns out my ovulation was just delayed that month due to stress. Don't worry, human bodies aren't machines, so take a deep breath and consult your doc.

I track my partner's cycle on Flo, and we noticed home tests are only highly accurate when the app shows a delay of 2-3 days. If you test before your luteal phase ends, the hCG levels are just too low to detect. Better to track your ovulation properly and then test.
