How far into pregnancy can you have sex?

My sister is pregnant, and she's a bit shy to ask about this. She wants to know if it's safe to have sex throughout the pregnancy, or if there's a point when it's better to stop. Till when can couples be intimate?

Generally, it is safe throughout all trimesters if you have a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy. Just like modifying your workouts, you just have to adapt positions to feel comfortable. Check with your doctor to make sure you have no restrictions.

In our case, my wife's doctor said it was completely fine right up to the third trimester because her pregnancy was low-risk. We just had to be comfortable and careful. Every couple's situation is different, so that was just our personal experience.

I was incredibly anxious about this and kept reading horror stories online, which made me too scared. But honestly, if your doctor says there are no complications like a low-lying placenta, it is safe. Just talk to your gynaecologist frankly to ease your mind.

Having PCOS made my pregnancy journey very cautious, so we avoided it in the first trimester just to be safe. Normally, it is fine until the late third trimester if your doctor clears you. It's always best to have a candid chat with your doctor first.

If there is no pain or spotting, it is usually safe to continue. Drink warm milk with almonds to stay strong. But if you ever feel any sharp pain, heavy cramping, or fluid leakage, stop immediately and visit your doctor right away.

Usually, it is safe, but never ignore even mild spotting or discomfort afterwards. I once ignored a minor symptom thinking it was normal and it became a major issue later. Please get your routine checkup and ask your doctor if you are cleared for it.
