How far along in pregnancy to find out gender?

My husband and I are eagerly waiting to find out if we're having a boy or a girl. We're in the early stages of pregnancy. At what point do doctors typically tell you the gender?

Biologically, the gender is fully formed early on, but it usually shows up on scans around the 18th to 20th week. However, just a heads-up that in India, finding out or sharing the baby's gender before birth is strictly illegal. Doctors won't tell you this during any ultrasound here.

Hey, biologically it is clear by the anomaly scan around 18-20 weeks. But don't stress too much about all this right now, as it is completely illegal to reveal the gender in India anyway. Just focus on eating well and enjoying this beautiful phase!

During my pregnancy, I had to be extremely careful due to sudden bleeding risks, so my focus was purely on survival and growth scans. Legally, gender cannot be revealed in India anyway. Please make sure you attend all your doctor appointments to ensure the baby's development is normal.

I get that you are super curious and it is totally natural to think about this constantly. But in India, law strictly prohibits gender determination at any stage of pregnancy. I used to feel so anxious about the scans, but focusing purely on the baby's healthy growth helped me calm down.

While development-wise it is visible around the 5th month scan, please remember we cannot legally ask for or know the gender in India. I was super busy tracking my thyroid levels and getting blood tests every month during that time anyway. Focus on keeping your health parameters in check.

I used to read so many international forums about this, but then I remembered that here in India, gender disclosure is illegal. I was always worried if my baby was growing fine during the 20-week anomaly scan. Try to stay calm and just pray for a healthy baby!
