How does pregnancy sickness feel?

My sister-in-law just found out she's pregnant and she's feeling really low. She keeps asking what morning sickness is truly like. I want to know how it actually feels, beyond just 'nausea', so I can support her better.

Honestly, it felt like a non-stop hangover for the first three months. I used to wake up feeling so nauseous, and even the smell of garlic in the kitchen made me want to throw up. It got much better after week 14, so hang in there.

Pregnancy sickness can range from mild nausea to actual vomiting throughout the day. Keep some dry biscuits by your bedside and eat one before you even get out of bed. Small, frequent meals work much better than three heavy ones.

My wife had terrible morning sickness, and we noticed that high-grease foods made it much worse. Light walks in the fresh air and eating simple, clean carbs like boiled potatoes or toast really helped settle her stomach. Hydration is key, even if you just sip water slowly.

For me, because of my PCOS history, my hormones were already all over the place, making the sickness feel very intense and exhausting. It varies for everyone, so don't compare. Just take it one day at a time and consult your doctor if you can't keep any liquids down.

Oh god, I panicked so much during my first pregnancy because the nausea was so bad I couldn't even drink water. I thought something was wrong with the baby. But my doc reassured me that it actually shows the hormones are strong, which made me feel so much better.

According to the pregnancy tracker apps we used, morning sickness peaks around week 9 due to HCG hormone spikes. It feels like a mix of dizziness, acid reflux, and general food aversion. Logging what triggers your nausea helps you avoid those specific smells.

In our times, we called it morning sickness, but it can happen any time of the day or night. Sucking on a small piece of ginger or sniffing a fresh lemon can ease that sour feeling in the throat. Make sure you don't keep an empty stomach for too long.

Bro, my wife went through this recently and it was rough. She looked totally drained and couldn't stand the smell of her favorite coffee. It is basically extreme exhaustion combined with constant motion sickness.

Honestly, it can be really depressing because you want to feel happy about the pregnancy, but you just feel physically miserable instead. It is okay to feel down or cry when you are constantly throwing up. Your feelings are completely valid, so please don't feel guilty.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! It literally feels like you're seasick on land, but it is completely normal. Just pamper yourself, sleep whenever you can, and eat whatever you feel like eating right now without any guilt.

It can feel very overwhelming when your body is changing so fast, almost like a constant internal storm. Try to stay calm, practice deep breathing in the morning, and remind yourself that this is a beautiful phase that will pass.

I am just starting to read about this and it sounds quite scary. Does the sickness start immediately in the first week itself, or does it take some time to show up? I would love to know what to expect.
