How does pcos affect weight?

Recently diagnosed with PCOS, one of the biggest struggles I'm having is with my weight. It feels like no matter what I do, losing weight is extremely difficult. How exactly does PCOS impact one's weight and metabolism?

Beta, PCOS makes your body resistant to insulin, which means your body stores sugar as fat instead of using it for energy. This is why gaining weight is so easy and losing it feels like a mountain task. Don't worry, regular walking helps.

At the hospital, my endocrinologist explained that hormonal imbalances like high androgen levels make us store fat around the abdomen. Please consult a qualified gynecologist to get a customized treatment plan rather than trying random diets.

It causes insulin resistance, which slows down your metabolism and makes your body store fat very quickly. It is a hormonal issue, not a lack of willpower.

PCOS makes our body a champion at storing fat due to hormonal shifts! But don't let it get you down. Small daily steps like strength training and eating more protein can really help balance those hormones out.

I literally eat the same as my hostel roommates but still put on weight so fast because of PCOS. It’s all due to insulin resistance and high cortisol levels from college stress. It is honestly so annoying to deal with.

I used to gain weight just by looking at food! PCOS causes insulin spikes which trigger intense sugar cravings and fat storage. Once I managed my insulin resistance with my doctor's help, the weight finally started budging.

Haan na, it is so frustrating. Because of hormonal imbalance, our metabolism slows down completely. Even if we eat less, we gain weight, ho na? Please get your fasting insulin levels checked by a doctor.
