How does hair loss happen?

Due to a lot of work stress lately, I've started noticing significant hair thinning. I'm worried it might be linked to my stress levels. How exactly does hair loss occur, and are there different ways it can happen?

Hair loss is mostly down to two main things: genetics (like DHT sensitivity) or sudden lifestyle shocks like extreme stress and crash dieting. If your father or uncles have male pattern baldness, it's likely genetic. Don't waste cash on expensive herbal oils; just consult a clinical trichologist directly.

I agree with others here that stress is a major trigger. Sometimes just fixing your sleep schedule and eating more green veggies can significantly reduce the shedding.

Hair loss can sometimes be a warning sign of deeper issues like thyroid dysfunction, autoimmune conditions, or severe nutritional deficiencies. Instead of trying random remedies at home, you should get a complete blood count and thyroid panel test done to be absolutely safe.

In my youth, I panicked heavily when my hair started thinning, thinking I would lose it all in a year. But with age, I realized that hair thinning is a very natural part of getting older and stress only speeds it up. Eat simple food, keep your mind calm, and don't let it ruin your peace.

My hair started thinning badly in my final year of college because of terrible sleep and eating junk daily. It happens when you neglect your body completely. Once I started gymming, eating eggs daily, and sleeping on time, my hair density improved a lot.

I used to cry seeing my comb full of hair after a wash, thinking I was going bald. But then a doctor told me losing 50-100 strands a day is completely normal hair shedding, not actual hair loss. Once I stopped stressing about it, the shedding actually decreased on its own.
