How does a diaphragm prevent pregnancy?

My friend was talking about different birth control methods, and she mentioned something called a diaphragm. I'm curious how it actually works to prevent pregnancy. Is it something that needs to be inserted?

Basically it acts like a little silicone barrier cup that you put inside before sex. It just blocks the sperm from entering your uterus. Don't stress too much about the process, but remember you always have to use it with a spermicide gel to make it actually work!

It is a physical barrier method that blocks the cervix entrance. You have to get fitted for the right size by a gynaecologist first. It's a reusable option, so you save a lot of money compared to monthly pills, just wash and store it properly.

I remember feeling so overwhelmed and scared that it would slip or fail when I first used it. It physically blocks the sperm, but honestly, the constant anxiety of inserting it right was too much for me. If you feel stressed, it's totally okay to look at other options.

It keeps the sperm from passing through the cervix. But please, go to a proper clinic to get it fitted. I once ignored some post-use irritation thinking it was nothing, and it turned into a nasty infection that took weeks to clear up. Always get professional advice.

Look, it's simple. It's a dome-shaped cap that sits over your cervix so sperm can't get in. But let's be real, it doesn't protect you from STIs. So if you are not in a committed relation, stick to condoms along with it.

It’s like a tiny flexible shield that blocks the cervix! You just smear some spermicide inside, pop it in, and you're good to go. Super easy once you get the hang of it 🌸
