How do you lose weight with an underactive thyroid?

My doctor diagnosed me with an underactive thyroid last year, and I've been taking meds regularly. Still, losing weight feels like a huge battle, no matter what I do. Can anyone share tips or things that actually worked for them?

I totally feel you, thyroid weight is so stubborn to lose! Honestly, the main thing is getting your medicine dosage right first, so keep checking your TSH. Along with that, daily walking and home-cooked food really helped me bring my weight down slowly.

Hello, I am also trying to understand this because my doctor recently said my thyroid is a bit low. It is so confusing to know what to eat. Do we have to completely stop eating rice and roti to see any difference?

Bhai, tension mat lo, sab theek ho jayega. Hamare ghar mein bhi sabko thyroid hai. Roj subah khali pet jo doctor saab ne goli di hai wo niyam se khao aur thoda subah ghumne jaya karo, bhari khana thoda kam kar do bas.

Actually tracking your daily steps and eating in a slight calorie deficit is key here. I use a fitness app to log my food because with thyroid, your metabolism is already slow, so we easily eat more than we burn. Try focusing on high protein and neat steps.

I ignored my fluctuating thyroid levels and did self-dieting, which ended up causing severe fatigue and heart palpitations. It became a big mess. Please consult your physician directly and let them adjust your thyroid hormone dosage before you start any intense weight loss routine.

Along with thyroid, I have high blood pressure too, so managing weight is very necessary. We must do regular blood checkups every 3 to 6 months to see if the thyroid levels are stable. Lifestyle changes like reducing salt, sleeping on time, and light exercise make a huge difference.

Take it easy on yourself, weight loss takes time when you have thyroid issues. Just focus on small healthy changes every day and don't take stress. You will definitely see progress slowly.

Please don't follow those random crash diets or magical herbal drinks you see on social media for thyroid. Everyone's body reacts differently and it can mess up your hormones even more. Go to an endocrinologist and get a proper diet chart made according to your blood report.
