How do dentist fix cavities between teeth?

My dentist just told me I have a cavity *between* two teeth, which sounds a bit tricky. How exactly do dentists manage to fix cavities that are in such tight spots? I'm a bit nervous about the procedure, so any info would help.

Yes, they use special thin matrices and bands to separate the teeth while filling. It prevents the filling material from sticking the two teeth together.

I had this done last week during my lunch break; took about 45 minutes. They shave a bit from the side, put a small plastic matrix band between the teeth, fill it, and cure it. Don't delay it or the decay will reach the root and require a root canal.

My grandmother used to suggest rinsing with clove oil for tooth pain, but for cavities between teeth, only a dentist can help. They carefully drill the decay from the top or side and use a band to shape the filling. Trust your dentist's method, they do it very precisely.

For these hidden cavities, the dentist gently cleans out the decay and uses a small wedge to hold the teeth apart while filling. I practiced deep, slow breathing during the procedure to stay completely calm and relaxed. It helps a lot with the clinic anxiety.

I was so scared they would have to pull both teeth out when I got a cavity between them! But they actually just use a very thin guard so the filling doesn't merge the teeth. Definitely get it checked soon before it deepens, you'll feel much better once it's done.

Getting these interdental cavities fixed is key because they mess up your chewing. The dentist uses a metal separator band to fill each tooth individually so you can still floss. Keeping up with a low-sugar diet and clean eating afterward prevents them from coming back.
