How do calories relate to weight gain?

Trying to lose some weight, I constantly hear about counting calories. I understand that too many calories lead to weight gain, but I don't really grasp the exact science behind it. Can someone explain the relationship between calories and how our body gains weight?

I know how stressful counting every single calorie can be, and it used to give me so much anxiety. Simply put, weight gain happens when you consistently eat more calories than your body burns for energy. Try to focus on eating whole, nourishing foods instead of obsessing over numbers.

It is basically like a bank account, bro. If you deposit more calories from pizza and momos than you spend walking to class, your body stores that extra energy as fat. Just try to move a bit more if you are eating heavy meals.

Calories are those tiny creatures that live in your closet and sew your clothes a little tighter every night! Honestly, if you eat more energy than you burn, your body just hoards it for a rainy day. Balance is key, so don't completely abandon your favorite samosas.

When we eat more calories than our body uses up for daily tasks, it stores the surplus as fat, causing weight gain. Just make small, gentle changes to your daily eating habits and don't be too hard on yourself.

Our body is a temple, and the food we eat is fuel. When we take in more fuel than our active daily life requires, the body naturally saves the excess. Stay positive, eat mindfully, and let your body find its natural balance with calm daily walks.

I recently lost 8 kgs just by understanding this relationship. I was eating healthy foods like nuts and avocados, but in huge quantities, which kept me in a calorie surplus. Once I started tracking portions, the weight came off easily. It's all about total energy balance.

At my age, even just looking at a gulab jamun feels like it adds two kilos! If your input of food calories is higher than what you burn through your sluggish daily routine, the scale goes up. It is a simple math equation that my body refuses to solve easily.

Look, whatever food we eat gives us strength. But if we eat too much sweet or heavy ghee food and just sit all day without working in the house, that food turns into fat. Keep eating simple home food and walk daily, your health will be perfect.

Consuming excess calories leads to weight gain, which directly increases the risk of high blood pressure and heart strain. I had to strictly monitor my calorie intake and schedule regular health checkups to keep my parameters normal. Managing your weight is critical for cardiovascular health.

I completely agree that weight gain is about calorie surplus. Keeping a simple food diary really helps you see where those extra calories are sneaking in.

Eating heavy foods and sweets increases our calorie intake, leading to natural weight gain. You can try drinking warm water with lemon in the morning and eating fresh salads to balance things out. But if you are gaining weight very suddenly, please consult a doctor to check for thyroid or other issues.
