How common is loose skin after weight loss?

I've been working really hard on my weight loss journey and have lost about 20 kilos so far. I'm very happy, but now I'm noticing a lot of loose skin, especially on my arms and stomach. How common is loose skin after significant weight loss?

Honestly, if you lose weight fast, a bit of loose skin is pretty common. I love my food too much to starve, so I lose weight slowly, which actually helps the skin shrink back naturally!

According to dermatologists, loose skin depends on age, genetics, and how fast you lose weight. My doctor told me that losing 1-2 pounds a week and doing strength training minimizes the chances of significant loose skin.

I am so worried about this too, I literally check my arms every day! People say it is common only if you lose massive amounts of weight very quickly, so slow and steady is definitely the way to go.

Bhai, agar bohot sara vajan ek sath kam karoge toh thodi loose skin hona aam baat hai. Roz thoda malish aur koshish karke desi khana khao, dheere dheere skin tight ho jati hai.

My grandmother advised sesame oil massage for skin elasticity, which is good, but our family physician explained that muscle building is the actual solution. It is common but very manageable through consistent gym sessions.

It is quite common but usually temporary for minor weight loss. Your skin will naturally adapt with time and a good protein intake.

I panicked so much when my belly skin felt loose after losing 15 kgs. But after six months of lifting weights and keeping hydrated, it tightened up significantly and looks totally normal now.

Don't let the fear of loose skin stop you from getting healthy. It only happens to a noticeable degree if you lose 30-40 kgs very rapidly, and even then, strength training can work wonders over time.
