How common is listeriosis in pregnancy?

My gynaecologist gave me a list of foods to be careful with during pregnancy, and she mentioned listeriosis. It sounded quite serious, so I'm trying to understand more. How common is listeriosis in pregnancy in India?

It's so rare that you have a better chance of winning a local lottery! Just stay away from raw sushi and unpasteurized milk, and tell your husband to do all the cooking for safety.

It is an extremely rare infection, but it can be serious, so eating fully cooked hot food is the best precaution.

While the risk is very low, our immunity is slightly lower during pregnancy, so we have to be a bit cautious. Stick to freshly prepared warm meals and avoid eating raw salads from outside.

When I was expecting, my doctor strictly told me to avoid cold deli meats and raw sprouts. It is very rare, but taking these small precautions gives you complete peace of mind.

As someone who carefully monitors everything I eat, I believe food safety is crucial. Listeriosis is rare, but washing your raw vegetables thoroughly and avoiding unpasteurized dairy is a solid practice for anyone.

I was super paranoid about listeriosis during my pregnancy, but my gynaecologist reassured me it is rarely seen here. I just ate well-cooked home meals and faced absolutely no issues.

I was studying food safety stats for a college presentation and saw that listeriosis is actually very rare, affecting only a tiny fraction of pregnant women annually. Standard kitchen hygiene is basically enough to prevent it.
