How common is kidney damage from omeprazole?

I've been taking Omeprazole for my acidity for a few years now, and it helps a lot. However, I recently read something online about it possibly affecting kidneys long-term. How common is kidney damage from Omeprazole?

It is quite rare for short-term use, so please try not to worry. Just take it exactly as your doctor recommended.

I panicked so much when I read about this online after being on antacids for a month. My doctor did a quick kidney function test and showed me everything was perfectly fine, it only happens to a tiny fraction of long-term users.

I have been taking BP meds and acidity pills for years now. The key is to never skip your routine kidney and blood tests every six months to catch any issues early.

Honestly, self-medicating on antacids for months is the real risk here. If you need it daily, just schedule a 10-minute online consult with a doctor to discuss alternatives instead of stressing.

Keep your mind calm and focus on healing your digestive system naturally. Mild side effects are possible with any medicine, but staying positive and staying hydrated will help your body stay balanced.

Acidity pills log saalon saal bina soche khate hain, ho na? It is rare, but long term use can sometimes cause issues, so doctor se puch kar hi lena chahiye humesha.

Managing thyroid has taught me that long-term meds always require medical supervision. If you are on omeprazole regularly, make sure your doctor reviews your dosage and runs routine kidney panels.

A basic Kidney Function Test (KFT) costs only around 300 to 500 rupees in most labs. If you are taking omeprazole long-term, it's highly cost-effective to get tested once a year rather than dealing with complications later.

I completely understand the anxiety of reading side-effect lists, it used to give me sleepless nights. Just know that you are not alone in feeling this way, but the actual risk of kidney issues is extremely low for normal use.

These modern English medicines should only be taken when necessary, as prolonged use can strain your organs. For regular acidity, try taking warm water with fennel seeds or cold milk before relying entirely on daily pills.

I was on high-dose PPIs for reflux for over a year and recently tapered off. My blood work showed completely normal kidney levels, so the risk is indeed very low if you follow your doc's plan.

I just started taking this medicine last week for my stomach burn and now I am a bit scared. Does anyone know if taking it for just two weeks can also cause any kidney problems?
