How common is a cryptic pregnancy?

I saw a reel about a woman who didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labor, a 'cryptic pregnancy.' It sounds so unusual, I can't imagine something like that happening. How common is a cryptic pregnancy, actually?

It is actually extremely rare to go months without knowing you are pregnant. If you are experiencing missed periods, unusual bloating, or irregular spotting, please don't assume it is a cryptic pregnancy. Go to a gynecologist and get a proper blood beta-HCG test and an ultrasound to see what is actually going on.

In my days, we rarely heard of such things happening. Usually, a missed period or morning sickness would make things clear within a month or two. Nowadays, with easy home urine test kits, it is very simple to find out early, so don't let these rare internet stories make you anxious.

It is very rare, so please try not to worry. If you are feeling anxious about changes in your body, a quick visit to a lady doctor will surely comfort you.

I keep reading these stories online where people didn't know they were pregnant until delivery, and now I am constantly checking my stomach! Has anyone else felt this sudden paranoia even after getting negative home tests? It is honestly so stressful to think about.

Let's be realistic, cryptic pregnancies make for viral internet stories but are statistically negligible. If you are sexually active and suspect something, just take a home pregnancy test or get a quick blood test done. It's 2025, we have easy medical access, so no need to keep guessing.

I had a period scare last year and started googling all sorts of things, including cryptic pregnancy. It turns out it's very uncommon and mostly happens when women have zero symptoms and irregular cycles. Taking a pregnancy strip test is the easiest way to put your mind to rest.

Don't let social media videos scare you into thinking this is a common occurrence. Cryptic pregnancies are highly unusual and mostly happen when someone has very irregular periods like in severe PCOS. Just do a simple home pregnancy test if you are feeling paranoid; it will clear your mind instantly.
