How can you tell if you have a tubal pregnancy?

I recently found out I'm pregnant, but I've been having some unusual cramping on one side of my lower abdomen. My friend mentioned something about ectopic or tubal pregnancies, and now I'm quite worried. What are the specific symptoms or signs that could indicate a tubal pregnancy, and how soon should I see a doctor for this?

A tubal or ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency that cannot progress normally. If you have a positive pregnancy test along with sharp pain on one side of your lower abdomen or irregular spotting, please get an ultrasound scan and blood tests done immediately under a doctor's guidance.

In our clinic, we always warn patients that symptoms of a tubal pregnancy usually start around the 6th to 8th week of pregnancy. Look out for sharp pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding, or shoulder-tip pain. If you feel extremely dizzy, weak, or faint, go to the hospital emergency room immediately.

Sister, if you are pregnant and experiencing sharp, severe pain on only one side of your lower stomach, or if there is bleeding, please do not ignore it. Take someone with you and go to a lady doctor right away. It can be very dangerous if left untreated.

I went through a tubal pregnancy last year, and it was emotionally and physically devastating. I had intense cramping and dark, watery spotting. Please, if you feel any persistent lower stomach pain during early pregnancy, get an ultrasound done immediately to stay safe.

An ectopic pregnancy can be life-threatening if the tube ruptures. If you are experiencing severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, or sudden lightheadedness, skip the online forums and go straight to the nearest hospital ER. It is a critical situation that requires immediate medical attention.
