How can i prevent hair loss while taking levothyroxine?

On levothyroxine for my thyroid problem for a few months now, and quite a bit of hair fall has been noticed. It's really concerning me. Is there anything I can do to prevent or reduce this hair loss while continuing my medication?

I totally get it, seeing hair fall out while starting a new medication is so scary and stressful. The good news is that this thyroid-related hair shedding is usually temporary as your hormone levels stabilize. Hang in there and give your body some time to adjust.

Haan, thyroid medicine starting main thoda hair fall badha sakti hai, but don't worry, ye temporary hota hai, na. Make sure you are taking the tablet on an empty stomach first thing in the morning with plain water. Baki health parameters ke liye doctor se check karvate raho.

Thyroid issues and hair fall go hand in hand, ho na, it is so frustrating. Just make sure your doctor checks your iron and vitamin D levels too, because deficiency in those also causes hair loss. Keep eating a healthy, nutrient-rich diet.

I panicked so much when my hair started thinning after starting levothyroxine, thinking the dosage was wrong! What helped was getting my TSH re-tested after 6 weeks to ensure the dose was correct. Definitely check with your endocrinologist before changing any dose yourself.

I completely understand the anxiety of watching your hair brush fill up with hair every morning; it is so distressing. But please don't lose hope, as once your thyroid levels are in the normal range, the shedding usually stops. Focus on sleeping well and eating fresh, home-cooked food to support your body.
