How accurate are blue dye pregnancy tests?

My period is a few days late, so I bought a blue dye pregnancy test from the chemist. I took it this morning, and there's a very faint line. How accurate are blue dye pregnancy tests generally, especially with a light positive? Should I retest?

I totally get it, waiting for a test result can make you so incredibly anxious. Blue dye tests are generally good, but sometimes they can leave a faint evaporation line that looks like a false positive. Try a pink dye test for more clarity.

When I had a confusing faint line on a blue dye test, I went to my gynecologist at the hospital. She told me clearly that a beta-HCG blood test is the only 100% accurate way to confirm, rather than guessing with home kits.

I literally got a confusing faint line on a blue dye kit last month and panicked so much. I switched to a standard pink dye test the next morning and it gave a very clear, accurate negative. Avoid the blue ones if you can.

They are quite accurate if you follow the instructions, but waiting a few days and testing again with morning urine usually gives a more reliable result.

My period tracking app always reminds me to test only after a missed period for maximum accuracy. Blue dye tests sometimes show faint evaporation lines if you read them after the 5-minute mark, so read the timer carefully.

They can be accurate, but hormonal issues like thyroid imbalances can sometimes delay your periods and cause testing confusion. It is best to do a proper blood test and consult your doctor to be absolutely sure.

In our times, we didn't have all these color-coded kits, we just waited patiently. Don't worry too much, wait for two more days and try again in the early morning; everything will be fine.
