Does zyrtec cause weight gain?

For my seasonal allergies, I've been taking Zyrtec for a few months now. Lately, I've noticed a slight increase in my weight and am wondering if there's a connection. Could this medicine be making me put on kilos?

I have been taking Zyrtec daily for my allergies and I feel like I'm putting on weight for no reason. Has anyone else noticed this happening to them too? I am really worried that this antihistamine is the main culprit.

Actually, yes yaar! I noticed I was feeling so lazy and hungry after taking it. I think the mild drowsiness it causes makes you want to just sit and munch on snacks. It's better to talk to your doc once if it's bothering you too much.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! A little bit of weight fluctuation can happen with daily allergy pills because they make you slightly sluggish. Just drink lots of water and don't worry, it usually goes away once you stop the medicine.

Honestly, Zyrtec puts me to sleep so fast that I barely have time to eat, let alone gain weight! But seriously, when I wake up from that deep sleep, I get intense cravings. If you are sleeping all day and eating late, weight gain is bound to happen.

Since I have PCOS, I am always very careful about any medicine that might cause weight gain or hormonal shifts. I did read that antihistamines can sometimes affect appetite, but I can't say for sure if it is Zyrtec alone doing it. It's safest to check with your gynecologist or endocrinologist.

In our times we preferred a warm cup of ginger and tulsi water for mild allergies instead of long-term pills. These modern medicines can sometimes affect your metabolism and cause heaviness or weight gain. Please consult your physician before taking such tablets regularly.

I track my daily active calories and food intake on my fitness app, and I didn't see any direct spike in my weight while taking Zyrtec. However, it can make you slightly fatigued, which might drop your daily steps. Try keeping an eye on your activity levels to balance it out.

I completely understand how stressful it is when you feel your body changing due to a medicine. I had panic attacks thinking a simple allergy pill was ruining my health. Just take a deep breath; any minor weight change from antihistamines is temporary and totally manageable once you consult your doctor.
