Does zyprexa cause weight gain?

Recently, my doctor started me on Zyprexa for my condition, and I'm already feeling a bit better. But I've heard from some friends that this medicine can cause a lot of weight gain. Is this actually true? I'm quite worried about putting on kilos.

Everyone on the internet will give you different advice, but don't try self-made diets or random home remedies to stop this. You must talk directly to your doctor because Zyprexa is a serious medicine. If the weight gain is too much, they might change your dose or suggest a safer alternative.

Honestly, weight gain is very common with this medication because it increases your appetite. I had to strictly switch to a high-fiber vegetarian diet with lots of salads and portion control to manage my weight while on it. Please don't crash diet, just be mindful of your daily food intake and discuss with your doctor.

Haan, weight toh badhta hai isse. A simple practical solution is to keep roasted chana or makhana at home for those sudden hunger pangs. Don't buy biscuits or chips, otherwise you will end up eating them when the medicine makes you feel hungry. Daily morning walks also help keep the weight under control.

When my doctor put me on Zyprexa, I gained around 8 kgs in just three months because I kept craving sweets late at night. I didn't change my dose myself, but I had to work closely with my doctor to manage it. This was just my personal experience with it, yours might be different.
