Does your nose get bigger during pregnancy?

Being pregnant with my first child, I've been joking with my husband that my nose seems to be looking bigger these days. My mother-in-law even mentioned it as an old wives' tale. Is there any truth to it, or is it just my imagination?

Yes, it actually can happen due to increased blood flow and estrogen expanding the nasal membranes. Keeping up with light walking and staying hydrated helps with overall water retention, but don't worry, it usually goes back to normal after delivery.

It definitely happens due to hormonal swelling and increased blood volume. It is temporary and nothing to worry about.

I was reading about this on a pregnancy blog because my friend's nose looked slightly wider in her third trimester. It's apparently called 'pregnancy nose' and is caused by estrogen dilating the blood vessels. It's crazy how many body parts are affected!

Oh babe, 'pregnancy nose' is a real thing! I looked like a completely different person in my selfies towards the end, but trust me, it goes away soon after the baby is born. Don't stress too much about it, you are beautiful!

My mother used to say that facial swelling is just a sign of the body holding water to support the baby. While family tips like reducing salt help, it is always best to let your doctor monitor your overall swelling to rule out any high blood pressure issues.

I just delivered my baby two months ago, and my nose had become so wide and swollen during my ninth month. It was shocking to see, but now it has almost completely gone back to its normal shape. Just hang in there, it's temporary.

Yes, 'pregnancy nose' is standard due to increased vascularity from high estrogen levels. You can track your daily water intake and active minutes on a health tracker to manage fluid retention, and it should settle soon after childbirth.

During my time, we knew that facial swelling happens when a woman is carrying a child. Try to drink some warm cumin water to ease water retention, and avoid salty foods. But always listen to your doctor's advice first.

I know how stressful it is when you notice changes in your face and start worrying if something is wrong. Swelling in the nose is a very common, harmless pregnancy symptom. But if you have sudden swelling in your hands or feet too, definitely let your doctor know.

While mild swelling in the nose is common due to hormones, sudden or severe facial swelling can sometimes be a sign of preeclampsia. For your safety, always get any new swelling checked immediately by your obstetrician.

I totally get it, seeing your face change shape can make you feel so self-conscious. It's just the high level of estrogen causing the nasal tissues to swell up. Be gentle with yourself, your body is doing amazing work.

Yes, it is extremely common due to vasodilation from pregnancy hormones. It's just cosmetic swelling and will resolve postpartum, so don't lose sleep over it. Focus on your health instead.

My cousin sister was literally crying about this last week because she thought her nose would stay big forever. We did some Google search and found out it's just due to hormones and fluid retention. It's completely normal, so don't worry!

While hormonal nose swelling is normal, sometimes excessive swelling can be linked to thyroid fluctuations or water retention issues. It is highly recommended to get your thyroid levels and blood pressure checked regularly by your doctor during pregnancy.

My bhabhi's nose looked totally swollen during her pregnancy and she was super conscious about it. My brother told her it's just fluid retention, and true enough, a few weeks after delivery she looked exactly like before. It's nothing to stress about.
