Does your hair fall out if you don't wash it?

Usually, I wash my hair every other day, but sometimes I skip it for longer, like 3-4 days, especially when I'm busy. Someone told me recently that if you don't wash your hair, it will start falling out more. Is there any truth to this?

Don't blindly follow YouTube videos telling you to wash or not wash your hair. If you are experiencing heavy hair fall, it could be due to nutritional deficiencies or hormonal issues, not just your washing schedule. Consult a proper dermatologist to find the real root cause.

I agree with others. Not washing allows dirt and sebum to build up, which can clog follicles and cause hair fall, so keeping a clean scalp is key.

I actually noticed more hair fall on days I wash it, so I started washing it less often, but now my scalp feels really itchy. Is it bad to leave the scalp oily, or will washing it too much make it worse? I am really confused.

Actually, you naturally lose about 50-100 hair strands daily. When you don't wash your hair, those loose strands get trapped in the buildup, making it look like a lot of hair fell out all at once when you finally wash it. Just maintain a regular wash routine of 2-3 times a week.

I used to worry about hair fall too, but my doctor told me that stress, high blood pressure, and poor diet affect hair health much more than how often you wash it. Make sure you get your regular body checkups done and maintain a calm lifestyle.
