Does your baby feel when you cry during pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester and have been feeling quite emotional lately, sometimes I just burst into tears. Does my baby inside feel my sadness when I cry, or is it just my emotions?

I cried so much during my first trimester due to crazy mood swings. Don't worry, your baby is very safe inside you. While they can feel hormonal changes when you are very stressed, a little crying is totally normal and won't hurt them.

I am in my 6th month and had a huge cry session yesterday because of some family stress. Now I am feeling so guilty and anxious that I might have harmed the baby. Did anyone else go through this and deliver a happy, healthy baby?

Managing a stressful job while being pregnant is highly exhausting, and breakdowns happen. Your baby is highly resilient. Just take five minutes, drink some water, and rest; don't stress about the crying itself.

There are too many old wives' tales online that make pregnant women feel guilty for basic emotions. While extreme, continuous stress is not good, crying occasionally does not harm the baby. Please speak to your obstetrician for proper scientific reassurance instead of reading scary blogs.

My mother-in-law always says we must keep a happy mind so the baby is peaceful, which is true. But my doctor reassured me that brief moments of sadness or crying are just natural pregnancy hormones. Try to listen to good music and relax, you are doing fine.
