Does yasmin cause weight gain?

I'm considering starting Yasmin for contraception, but one of my biggest concerns is gaining weight. I've heard stories from friends about different pills, so I want to know if Yasmin typically causes weight gain.

My doctor suggested Yasmin recently but I am very scared to start it. Does the weight gain go away after a few weeks, or does it keep increasing? I would really appreciate some honest advice.

Hormonal pills can sometimes cause bloating and fluid retention, which feels like weight gain. I always suggest keeping a clean diet and drinking fennel water to reduce bloating, but if you feel sudden heavy swelling or severe headaches, consult your gynecologist immediately.

I was on Yasmin for six months for my acne. Honestly, I only gained about 1-2 kgs of water weight in the first month, but once my body adjusted, it went back to normal. Just watch your salt intake and you'll be fine.

I completely understand how stressful this is, because Yasmin made me feel very bloated and emotionally low for the first two months. It is incredibly frustrating when your body changes, but please be gentle with yourself; the initial water retention usually settles down.
