Does xyzal cause weight gain?

My allergies have been really bad lately, so my doctor just prescribed Xyzal. A cousin told me some allergy medicines can cause weight gain, and I'm really worried about that. Is it true Xyzal causes weight gain?

Xyzal is an antihistamine, and while direct weight gain isn't very common, these meds can make you feel sleepy or slightly increase your appetite. If you feel you are putting on weight, track your diet and talk to your prescribing doctor.

Actually, I took it for my dust allergy last year and didn't face this issue, yaar. But it does make you super drowsy, so maybe laziness leads to less activity and weight gain!

I log my weight and calories daily on MyFitnessPal and noticed no fluctuation when I was on Xyzal. Some studies show antihistamines can slightly increase appetite, so just track your food intake if you are concerned.

I have been using it off and on for seasonal allergies and haven't noticed any weight changes! Just stay active and drink lots of water, you will be totally fine! 🌸
