Does wixela cause weight gain?

My doctor prescribed Wixela for my asthma, and I've been a bit worried about gaining weight. Does Wixela cause weight gain as a side effect?

No, it typically does not cause weight gain because the dose is very small and targeted directly to your lungs. Hope you feel better soon.

I was actually researching this online because my uncle was prescribed Wixela recently. From what I read, since it is an inhaled steroid, very little of it enters the bloodstream compared to oral tablets, so weight gain is quite rare.

At fifty, everything I swallow seems to turn into weight, but my Wixela inhaler is definitely innocent. It has helped my asthma tremendously without adding any extra inches to my waist.

My mother suggested that steroids always cause bloating and weight gain, but my pulmonologist cleared this doubt. He explained that Wixela acts locally in the airways, so systemic side effects like weight gain are negligible. Always trust the doctor's explanation.

Don't worry at all. Wixela is prescribed to help you breathe easily, and breathing well actually helps you stay active. Focus on your recovery and don't stress about weight gain right now.

Dude, I've been using this for months and my weight is exactly the same. Don't worry about it, just make sure you rinse your mouth after using it so you don't get throat issues.

Honestly, I gain weight just by looking at a samosa, so I can't blame my inhaler! But seriously, Wixela shouldn't cause weight gain; your sleepless nights and late-night snacking are more likely the culprits like they are for me.

As a diabetic, I have to be very careful with steroid medications as they can spike blood sugar, which in turn affects weight. With Wixela, my sugar levels remained stable, meaning it didn't affect my metabolism or cause weight gain.
