Does weight lifting help arthritis?

Arthritis in my knees and shoulders makes daily life quite painful sometimes. My son suggested I try some light weight lifting to strengthen my muscles. Can weight lifting actually help improve arthritis symptoms, or should I avoid it?

Yes, it does. Strengthening the muscles around your joints with light weight training helps absorb the impact and reduces arthritis pain significantly.

I always thought lifting weights would make joint pain worse. My mother has mild knee arthritis and I am scared she might hurt herself. Can anyone suggest what light exercises are safest to start with?

Haan, bilkul help karta hai. If you strengthen your muscles, joint pressure kam ho jata hai. But remember to start under a trainer, na, don't do heavy lifting directly.

Actually yaar, resistance training is amazing for joint mobility. It builds supporting muscles so your bones don't rub together so much. Just consult a sports physio first to get the correct form.

Since I manage my diabetes with controlled diets and daily routines, I know how important joint health is for staying active. Light strength training has helped my joint stiffness tremendously. Just make sure to monitor your overall body strain and consult your doctor.
