Does wearing a ball cap cause hair loss?

I wear a ball cap almost every day, especially when I'm out in the sun or playing cricket. My dad told me that wearing caps too much can make your hair fall out. Is there any truth to this, can a ball cap really cause hair loss?

Before you spend thousands on expensive hair loss treatments or stop wearing caps, just try washing your cap regularly first. Buying a simple mild shampoo is very cheap compared to getting costly dermatologist appointments or blood tests. Try this practical adjustment for a month and see if the shedding stops.

Man, if wearing caps caused hair loss, half the tired guys in my office would be bald by now because we use them to hide our messy morning hair. Unless you are pulling it so tight that it cuts off blood circulation to your brain, you are totally fine. Just sleep well and stop stressing about it.

Wearing a cap doesn't cause hair fall, but sweaty hair under a cap can lead to fungal infections and scalp itching. I suggest massaging your scalp with warm coconut oil mixed with a little camphor once a week to keep it clean. But if you see bald patches, go see a skin specialist immediately.

Chill, bro, wearing a ball cap won't make your hair fall out! It is mostly just a myth, unless you are wearing an extremely tight cap all day and sweating like crazy. Just let your scalp breathe sometimes and don't stress too much about it, your hair is totally fine.

Bhai, don't worry, caps don't make you bald. In our town, many farmers wear caps or turbans in the hot sun all day and they have very thick hair. Just make sure you wash your cap so that sweat and dirt don't collect on your scalp.

I wear a cap during my morning runs and asked my dermatologist about this last month. She said traction alopecia only happens if the cap is tight enough to pull your hair follicles constantly. Just adjust the strap to a comfortable, loose fit and you can wear it daily without any worries.
