Does vyvanse cause weight gain?

My doctor suggested Vyvanse for my binge eating disorder. I'm already struggling with my weight, so I want to be careful. Does Vyvanse cause weight gain?

Actually, Vyvanse is much more likely to cause weight loss because it reduces appetite. Please don't worry about gaining weight, but do talk to your doctor if you feel any changes in your eating habits.

In my experience, you only gain weight if you skip meals during the day and then overeat late at night when the drug wears off. The best way to prevent this is to eat structured, nutritious meals at regular intervals even if you don't feel hungry.

Don't rely on random chat groups or internet theories for this. Vyvanse is literally prescribed for binge eating disorder in some cases, so weight gain is not a typical side effect. Verify with your psychiatrist if you are noticing any unusual symptoms.

Hey! I've been taking Vyvanse and it actually did the opposite for me because my appetite just vanished. Gaining weight on it is pretty rare, but if you do, it might be due to a 'rebound' hunger when the medicine wears off in the evening. Just track your meals!

My grandmother used to say that any change in focus affects our digestive fire. However, my doctor explained that Vyvanse is a stimulant and typically suppresses hunger, so weight gain is highly unusual. I trust his clinical advice on this.
