Does vraylar cause weight gain?

My doctor recently prescribed Vraylar for my condition. I'm a bit worried about side effects, especially weight gain. Does this medicine generally cause people to gain weight?

Honestly, I put on around 4 kgs in the first two months of starting it. My appetite just went crazy, especially late-night cravings. Talk to your doc if you notice your pants getting tight, they might adjust things.

At 50, water also feels like it adds 2 kilos to my waist, but yes, these meds do have a reputation. I felt my sweet tooth acting up extra after starting it. Just keep an eye on your kitchen cabinet, otherwise, you'll be buying a whole new wardrobe like I almost did!

Listen, don't worry too much about the weight part right now, your mental peace is the top priority. Yes, it can cause some fluctuations, but we can always manage that with a clean diet and light walks. Just take your dose on time and let your doctor know if you feel any sudden appetite changes.

When I was prescribed this at Apollo, my doctor told me to keep a close eye on my weight every week. I highly recommend asking your specialist directly about this during your next visit. They can guide you on preventive steps or track your metabolic profile through routine blood tests.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! Some people gain a bit, but many don't face any weight issues at all. Just keep drinking lots of water and snack on fruits instead of chips if you feel extra hungry. You've got this, okay?

The metabolic effects vary a lot from person to person. While some clinical studies show a relatively low risk of weight gain compared to other options, many individuals do report changes in appetite. It is best to discuss a monitoring plan with your psychiatrist to stay ahead of it.
