Does valsartan cause weight gain?

My doctor recently prescribed Valsartan for my blood pressure. Since starting this medicine a few weeks ago, I'm noticing some changes in my weight. Does Valsartan usually cause weight gain, or is this just something else?

Honestly, dont trust what random people say on forums about BP medicines. Some say they put on weight, others say they lost it. It is always better to just ask your cardiologist directly because everyone's body reacts differently to valsartan.

I am so tired all the time that I can't tell if it is my sleep deprivation or the meds making me feel heavy. But seriously, I've been on it for six months and haven't noticed any major weight jump, just the usual laziness from lack of sleep. Try to keep an eye on your late-night snacking first!

Please don't ignore any sudden changes in your body while on this medication. I once ignored swelling and fluid retention thinking it was normal weight gain, and it turned out to be a serious issue. Go get your kidney function and BP checked by your doctor if you feel something is off.

Don't worry too much about it right now. Usually, valsartan doesn't cause any major weight issues for most people. Just take your readings regularly and stay in touch with your doctor.

My son was prescribed a similar blood pressure medication last year and we were also terrified of side effects like weight gain. What helped us was keeping a simple daily log of his weight and what he ate. It turned out to be mostly water weight in the first week, which settled down soon after.

Look boss, weight gain with valsartan is not very common. If you are suddenly gaining weight, it could be fluid retention which you should show to your doc immediately. Otherwise, thoda walk karo and sweet intake kam rakho, you will be fine.

Hey, don't stress too much about this, seriously! It is a super common medicine and most of my family members take it without any such issues. Just keep eating healthy and focus on your recovery, your health is much more important right now.
