Does uterus fibroids cause weight gain?

I've been diagnosed with uterine fibroids for a few months now, and lately, I feel like I've gained some weight, especially around my mid-section. Could fibroids be a reason for this unexplained weight gain, or is it something else?

Fibroids themselves don't add actual fat, but if they grow very large, they can cause bloating and make the belly look bigger. Heavy bleeding can also make you too tired to workout. Focus on clean eating and gentle movement, but do see a gynaecologist.

I went through this and felt like my lower belly was constantly bloated and heavy, which looked like weight gain. Large fibroids can actually weigh a few pounds themselves and cause water retention. Definitely get an ultrasound done to see what is happening.

I have been noticing my waist size increasing and feeling very bloated, and I am so anxious that it might be fibroids. Did anyone else notice sudden lower stomach bloating before they were diagnosed?

Yes beta, when fibroids grow inside, they can make the stomach look heavy and swollen like weight gain. It makes the body feel very tired too. You must go to a good lady doctor and get a checkup.

I panicked when my weight wouldn't budge and my lower belly felt hard. My doctor reassured me that large fibroids can cause swelling and look like weight gain, but it is treatable and manageable once diagnosed properly.
