Does tylenol during pregnancy cause autism?

I'm in my second trimester and recently had a mild fever, for which my doctor suggested Tylenol. I saw some articles online linking it to autism in children. Is there any truth to this claim about Tylenol use during pregnancy?

I completely understand how terrifying it is to read these things online when you are pregnant and already so anxious. Most doctors still consider occasional Tylenol to be the safest pain relief option during pregnancy. Please talk to your gynecologist directly to help ease your mind.

There is no conclusive scientific proof linking Tylenol to autism. Instead of wasting hours scrolling through unverified articles on forums, just consult your obstetrician during your next weekly visit. It's the most efficient way to get accurate, safe advice.

It is so incredibly stressful trying to make the right choices for your baby, and the guilt and fear online can be overwhelming. Take a deep breath; occasional use under your doctor's guidance is generally considered safe. You are doing great, don't let these scare tactics ruin your peace.

As a mother of a beautiful child on the spectrum, I can assure you there is no proven direct link like this. Autism is complex and genetic. Don't blame yourself or get scared of taking a doctor-prescribed pill for a high fever during pregnancy, which is actually more risky if left untreated.

Hey, I know there's so much scary info out there right now! My sister was also super worried about this during her pregnancy, but her doctor said short-term use for high fever is perfectly fine and safe. Just avoid taking it daily and keep your doctor updated.

Medical consensus on health apps still lists acetaminophen as the first-line treatment for pain during pregnancy when used sparingly. The studies hinting at a link are not definitive and have many variables. Definitely keep logging your symptoms and discuss them with your OB-GYN.
