Does tying tubes cause weight gain?

I'm considering getting my tubes tied after my last delivery. A friend mentioned that some women experience weight gain after the procedure. Is there any medical basis to the idea that tying tubes can cause weight gain?

Listen, tying tubes is a simple surgical procedure and it does not affect your hormones directly. Any weight gain after that is usually due to age or slowing metabolism, not the surgery. Just focus on a clean diet and don't blame the procedure.

I had my tubectomy five years ago. I gained a little weight initially because of the rest period after surgery, but managed to lose it by doing regular home exercises and eating simple ghar ka khana. Just keep moving and avoid oily food.

I completely understand your worry because I also spent sleepless nights searching about this before my surgery. It is very natural to feel scared about how your body will react. But rest assured, most doctors agree it doesn't cause hormonal weight gain.

I had my tubes tied last year and I feel like I've gained 4 kgs around my stomach since then. Did anyone else experience this sudden shift? I am starting to wonder if it really is connected to the procedure.
