Does tumeric cause liver damage?

My mother-in-law takes turmeric religiously for various health benefits. However, I read somewhere that taking too much can damage the liver. Is there any truth to this claim about turmeric causing liver damage?

I have been taking a tiny pinch of haldi with warm water every morning for years, and my yearly liver function tests have always been completely normal. I can't speak for medical science, but normal kitchen use has worked fine for me.

My doctor at Medanta told me that while dietary turmeric is safe, high-dose curcumin supplements can sometimes put stress on the liver in sensitive individuals. Please consult your physician before taking any concentrated herbal extracts.

Dietary turmeric is fine, but focus on keeping your liver healthy through regular physical activity like a 30-minute daily walk. If your doctor clears you for normal exercise, keeping active is the best way to prevent fatty liver.

In our olden days, we never heard of haldi causing liver issues; it was always considered a healing herb. The problem today is that people want quick results and take too many capsules. Eat simple home-cooked meals and stay worry-free.

Yaar, normal haldi jo hum khane mein daalte hain usse kuch nahi hota actually. Ye problem tab hoti hai jab log fancy supplements overdo karte hain. Stick to home food and you are totally safe.

I had elevated liver enzymes last year and had to check everything I consumed. My doctor said culinary turmeric is completely fine, but to stop all herbal liver cleanse pills and heavy supplements immediately. Keep it simple and natural.

I totally understand how scary it is when you read online that common kitchen spices might be harmful. It made me paranoid too. But rest assured, culinary turmeric in standard amounts is highly unlikely to cause any liver damage.

Look, don't believe every random post on the internet. Cooking with a spoonful of haldi in dal will not harm your liver. Just stop consuming those direct herbal supplements without a doctor's prescription.
