Does trazodone cause hair loss?

Since starting Trazodone for persistent sleeplessness, I've been noticing a lot more hair in the shower drain. My hairline also seems to be receding faster than before. Is hair loss a known side effect of this particular medication?

My mother always tells me to use hibiscus flower paste for strengthening hair roots, which is excellent. However, for internal medicines like trazodone, we must rely on our doctor's assessment. If you feel it's causing hair fall, do consult them for a safer alternative.

At fifty-four, my hair was already planning its retirement anyway, so I can't blame trazodone entirely! But jokes apart, if you are seeing sudden clumps of hair on your pillow, it is better to ask your doctor if the drug is the culprit.

Hey, don't stress too much about this! Hair fall often happens just because we are anxious or not sleeping well. Once your sleep cycle gets sorted with the medicine, your hair health might actually improve on its own.

It is a rare side effect, so hopefully it will not affect you. Just take care of your health, eat well, and speak to your doctor if you notice any unusual shedding.

Any sudden physical changes like hair loss should be clinically evaluated rather than ignored. It could be due to thyroid issues or iron deficiency, which are very common. Please visit your doctor and get some basic blood work done to be safe.
