Does the thyroid gland control body temperature?

My wife has had thyroid issues for some time now, and she's always complaining about feeling too hot or too cold. I was just curious if this is directly linked. Does the thyroid gland actually control our body temperature?

Yes, it does. Just like managing my blood sugar, keeping an eye on thyroid levels is crucial because both affect your overall metabolism and how your body handles energy and heat. Eating clean, balanced meals helps keep everything stable.

It definitely controls how warm you feel! When my thyroid was low, even a hot plate of spicy momos couldn't warm me up from the inside. Turns out that little gland controls our internal stove.

Yeah it does. Last winter I was freezing even with two jackets on, and my doctor told me it was because of my sluggish thyroid. Got my meds adjusted and now I feel completely fine.

Haan na, it is very true. When thyroid levels go up or down, our body temperature also gets disturbed completely. You should check with your family doctor once and get a simple blood test done, simple solution.

I can totally relate to this. I used to sweat so much even under a fan, and later found out it was hyperthyroidism. If you are experiencing extreme sensitivity to cold or heat, definitely get your TSH checked.
