Does the pill make your hair fall out?

Since being on birth control pills for a few months, I've noticed more hair fall than usual. I'm wondering if the pill could be the reason for this. Has anyone else experienced hair thinning or hair fall while on the pill?

It can cause some hair thinning when you start or stop it due to hormonal changes. Instead of buying expensive shampoos, just ensure you are eating curry leaves and taking proper iron-rich food. Simple home diet changes help a lot with hair health.

Hormones can disturb the body's natural state, leading to hair loss. Along with your medicine, practicing daily Kapalbhati and Balayam (nail rubbing) gently for 10 minutes helps improve scalp blood circulation naturally.

My girlfriend panicked thinking she was going bald after starting the pill because she saw three hairs on her comb! It's usually just a temporary phase, guys. No need to prepare for a wig just yet!

Yes, starting or stopping hormonal pills can trigger temporary hair shedding called telogen effluvium. Keeping your stress low and taking multivitamin supplements under your doctor's guidance can help control it.

Some birth control pills with high androgenic index can cause hair thinning in sensitive people, while others actually help hair growth. It is very important to discuss your hair concerns with your gynecologist so they can prescribe the right formulation.

I ignored severe hair fall while on the pill thinking it was just a normal side effect, but it turned out my thyroid levels were completely off. Please get your thyroid and iron levels checked properly rather than waiting for it to stop.
